is anyone having trouble with pricing

i havent had a boiler job for months just not wining any, ive priced 7 up got not of them 2 were from rated but canclled that 2 from boiler guide trouble is you have to pay just to quote so if someone goes in £100 or £200 cheaper your goosed and 3 from advertising word of mouth just carnt work it out only really making £400 or £500 labour for a lot of work especally if its a y plan change to combi because the margins are so low and have come down to this price which really aint enough to cover wages an van insurance gas safe,petty ect when you give them a price they just look at you vacant like ye ripping them off and usually the answer is "oh thats a bit dear" am i dear, as usually use baxi/potterton heatmax dont really use cheap rubbish as from experience theres always combacks plus tend to fit 28,s cos of water flow 24,s take to long with water flow on the bath

probably someone in your area wants to be busy through the summer and has dropped his prices , just to get out of the house fella. stick with it winter is coming

cheers bod ,i work on a 20 mile radius so its annoying think its probs people doing them in a day and being a few of them probs workin for £100 each and ye just carnt compete plus peoeple dont see the price of materials and think ye just rippin them and want it done for nowt and theres people who will cos theyve no overheads

maybe try going through what the job enatils etc rather then just giving a price eg flushing , benchmark etc.

im lucky i think . i am booked for next 4 week and my prices are a tad higher then the local average but mine are word of mouth or bni reccomendations

tryed that mate explaining what is what and what there getting but cos most of them dont no what there getting if some balloon puts a cheap 24kw in there none the wiser till it goes wrong by then they carnt get hold of them probs cos they change the fone every few months so its quite hard being honest and legit i was booked up for 3 week ahead till my dad died a few months ago and put me back as couldnt work and also had a holiday booked around the same time so would have lost that aswell

so sorry for your lost pal 🙁 ....keep strong for your family pal 🙂 we will make it through this mount is the worst as all people are on holiday , but soon as they coming back our phones will start ringing ! did loose few jobs and i am ... off about it big time ! but I am getting help from a business analyser to help me start winning customers on the survey ! what I have realised is the survey is our time to strike using psychology tactics ,it will take time to work it out but is worth already first visit and won the first job we visit together !

ave sorted a new website and local mag so that might help were probs all in the same boat but doesnt help by being undercut by people who are probs not gas safe and get away wiv it
