Hi,
I am new here and so I hope this is an ok question to ask.
I just had a plumber come to fix my toilet cistern which was dripping slowly after filling. he changed a rubber seal which was worn and then made some adjustments to the water fill level and water fill speed. The new level is much lower than it was, about 1" lower than the top of the overflow pipe.
before he left he said that it was normal for the cistern tap to drip after filling to a stop and that it should stop dripping after a certain water level has been reached.
But it wasn't like that before, as far as I could tell, the tank would go silent after the filling was complete and this would not take very long.
I don't know what to do or whether I should inform the landlord so soon after having had the plumber call.
I would appreciate any advice that anyone might be able to give.
Thank you,
cliff
