The pipe outlet on the external wall seems so short and there is even a cap on the top. I am not sure whether it is normal for this particular type of boiler.

Also any one tell me how to drain the boiler properly if necessary. Is the plastic part with a cap on the left side used for draining (the photo is overturned) or20130401_124201[1].jpg the other metal part which connect to filling loop (the photo should turn 90 oc clockwise)?

the prv terminal is fine, its a mushroom type fitting which is design for this use.

to drain the boiler put a hose on a drain off cock and let the water out.

They look neater but cost wise compared to 2 elbows its not worth the expense.

Buy a ideal logic + and there's a similar one in there as well.

If its fully trv'd the ones on the boilers don't let a lot through.

new spec for zoning requires a bypass to be fitted aswell even though the boiler has one.

and less likely to get stolen for scrap. seen loads of house with the pipe coming out of the wall sheared off where the double elbow used to be.

Thank you and everyone very much.
very glad to know the terminal is ok. I actually assume that someone blocked the pipe with a cap:teeth_smile:
Could you tell me which one is the drain off cock? The one connect to the filling loop or the one next to the condense pipe?

There's one just inside the boiler casing but the easiest one to use is the one on the bottom of the spirovent (big brass thing).

Thanks. Do you mean this one which connets to the filling loop?

I attached another picture. I would like to know what is this part used for? The one has a grey plastic cap on left side. Thank you
