Please can you help.

I have a leaking fitting under the sink. It is the "tee" shown on these photo's. A plumber has suggested this is the responsibility of the Water Company as it is linked to the internal meter.

I have two questions.

1. is this my responsibility?

2. If it is, what is the fitting called please and where can I get one?

not seen one of those before!
looks like a fitting designed to screw directly onto the body of a standard stopcock in place of the taphead, to provide extra piping and then a new stopcock fitted above it.
it looks like it could be all cut away, replaced with a new stopcock at lowest level, then replace remainder with srtandard 't's and bends etc.
i could be wrong, but thats what it looks like to me.

If its on the inlet side then call severn trent (haydn rd) to replace it. Otherwise its your responsibility.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I should have added that it appears to be bi-directional take water from the stop tap to the meter then back towards the domestic system. I had a Plumber look at it and because it is so close to the meter, he thought it was Severn Trent's responsibility and was nervous about changing\modifying it.

call severn trent in the morning and tell them the meter they fitted is leaking all over your cabinets,
they will send an engineer round and at least advise if not fix.
i dont think it will be chargeable as i think it is a fitting they supply, otherwise get a price first.

i take it your actually in southwell?.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I called STW last week and they removed the fitting by changing the pipe routing as the fitting is no longer available. It is a fitting originally supplied to Developers by STW.
