janus 3 luke warm water

Good evening everyone,

How are you guys this Sunday evening? Ok I put a new piezo kit in this Johnson & Starly warm air unit/janus water heater the other day and they both fired okay. Warm air unit started heating the house as per roomstat but the hot water was just luke warm despite the burner being on for a long while and going down to just the pilot light after wards.

I learnt through this forum that its heat exchanger could be quite clogged up but what other reason could be there. I had its installation instruction but there wasn't much in it. Told the owner to check out later if it did produce good amount of hot water. Although he has not phoned me back I just want to be prepared with more options if I have to go back.

Any suggestions/pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Oh also does anyone know how to start a new post from android phone using tapatalk 2?

Well known for clogging up, are you in a hard water area ? have you removed it and cleaned between fins ? Pity you didn't post a few months back put a brand new one in the scrap bin had it for about 8 years, been a long time since I worked on one.

Hi jts, thanks for reply. Yes its a pity I didn't get to it earlier.

And no I haven't gone into it yet for cleaning but I may have to in the future if they want it sorted properly.

And yes it does look like hard water area according to the mapping
