Hi folks,

Does anyone have one of these analysers with the Bluetooth Module? I can't work out how to get it to pair with my iPhone for the life of me. I have the Kane App and have followed the instructions in there but it can't detect the FGA and thus I can't print/email over my results.

Would be very grateful if anyone with this can tell me how to get the Kane communicating on Bluetooth so I can pair them!

Thanks,

Keiran.

Steve everything is going on pc saves printing and you cna email with your certs its the way forward

i am pretty sure it only works with android
Apple had a thing about locking bluetooth only for devices they approve of...

And the kane site only states a link for android market as far as i can see. I looked into i am on android but didnt bother.

Thanks all. As far as I can see from the Kane site Phil they have links to both Apple and Android apps. Can you send me the link to where you are looking on the Kane site? It certainly may be possible as I can't detect the FGA from within my iPhone app. Having said that, it doesn't look like it has the BLUE COM option in the setup menu so I am thinking they have sent me one without Bluetooth.

Hi SMT, certainly did. Just reverting to the seller now to check it's definitely sent with it. Apparently there is a menu option such as BLUE COM that I can use to check it's definitely been fitted. Can anyone shed any light on this please?

To do this; rotate the dial to MENU and press PUMP key once - if Bluetooth is fitted the next sub menu will be BLUE COM.

Ive just double checked as my saved bookmark was indeed for the android side of things.
There does seem to be apple support. But upon searching instructions seem scarce

For me the option is SERVICE. I take it that means conclusively it's not been fitted then.

Arghhhhhhhhh. Next thing is I have some data I have to have off this FGA before I (presumably) send it back to be swapped over as I understand the Bluetooth module is a factory fitted module.

Options as far as I can see are buy a USB cable or buy an infrared printer!

Will be calling the supplier before to sort all this out!!

Yes that's my issue. It seems that I have paid for bluetooth to be fitted and it isn't in my case. Calling the supplier tomorrow AM. Looks like I am buying a USB cable for now.

Have you tried turning it around to menu and pressing the pump key once

Edit just see shaun said that....

Top marks Phill. The website clearly says they support Apple but what it doesn't say is the Bluetooth module doesn't actually work with Apple phones.. It works fine with Android but apparently a separate 'low energy module' is needed to get it working with Apple phones.. I don't think it mentions that anywhere and even Keison didn't realise it! Analyser looks like it's going back to Keison to be swapped now!

Thats the damn thing with apple bluetooth. It is not the usual bluetooth and locked down to thier ends.

Unlike every other bluetooth device what will communicate with any other. Apple require special licensing

Well got a simple solution for now, CSV download to my PC. Have to say I am very surprised it's not in a more secure format given that tightness testing etc could be used in court to prove due diligence.

and in the time it took to work this out I could have written all my cp12s for the year 🙂
