I have just moved into a new house and the kitchen sink needs replacing. I have looked at new sinks in chrome colour but they all have straight edges, mine has slight curves on the right and left side. Can i replace old with new or do I need a complete new work surface. The sink is 98cm from far tip to tip and the new ones I saw are 96.5 cms.
Thanks

Also, would it be something someone with zero experience be able to change over. If not how much would it cost?

you can get 1000 by 490/500,quite common ,should cover old hole from existing sink

If you have no experience may be better getting someone in ,as will have to cut work top, fit hot and cold supplies to tap and re jiggle waste

however depends how diy you are and how confident/competent you are

Cost get a few quotes and go by word of mouth to find someone if possible

🙂

you shouldn't need to replace the work top but you may need to slightly alter the cutout in it. the cutout isn't as far as the edge of the sink so you should have some to play with

Thanks guys, it sounds urm, a bit too complicated. I quite new to the area so may struggle to find someone word of mouth, any ideas of rough costs please?😉

Jack it depends on where abouts you live mate, different areas of the country = different rates

JackDaniels - do you know of a decent electrician or builder or carpenter or somone in the construction world? If you do, ask them for a recommendation for who can help you. You'll find many tradesmen know of a good plumber, electrician or whoever as we join up and work together from time to time and give each other customers. At least in this part of the world it happens like that and I can't imagine it's much different to where you are.
