I am thinking of investing in an electronic sniffer, primarily because when investigating gas leaks I find

1) Leaks do not always show up with LDF

2) not all joints are accessible to spray a solution on.

Also, after taking a burner pressure or an inlet working pressure on a boiler, I don't like spraying too much leak detector inside the boiler as it invariably drips off the gas valve, on to the electrics. I presume an electronic detector is more suited to this.

I don't like the idea of setting my FGA up every time I take a pressure reading, I am thinking more towards a standalone sniffer, like the Anton. I have a regin REGX31 digital manometer, which I find brilliant, and very fast and accurate, comes on instantly, magnetic. And no need to fill with water/fluid, A good sniffer would complete my kit, but then again I would be stood infront of boilers with my tools, FGA, digital manometer, sniffer, and paperwork. A lot to carry when you can get an analyser that does the lot.

Help much appreciated!

And pricey for all the batteries too. I've a Kane sniffa but it's just recently started giving me gyp. Looking at Plumbcenters one, doesn't look too shabby.

I also use brush on ldf, goes where I want it. And not where I don't. Plus it's thicker so it shows up betterer.

I bought the anton agm 50 a couple of months ago, works well
