Often I come across situations where a new copper outlet supply has been installed but connected to the end of the original outlet lead pipe instead of all the way back to the meter outlet. I assume I'm correct in thinking that the lead pipe would be classified as a 'pliable connector' and would now be a NCS situation.

Gas Safe Technical Bulletin 084, which refers to the prohibition of two pliable connectors on a domestic gas meter installation, seems to contradict itself somewhat. BS 6400 is clear on where the meter installation terminates, this being the outlet connection of the meter, although the bulletin advises the user/responsible person to contact their gas supplier to rectify the NCS situation. 😕

So my question is who pays for, and who is responsible for doing the work?

if like me youir buddys with transco[wales and west]with me they give a connecter to replace the lead but if your doing a install anyway you might as well replace it out of the way
