have ideal isar boiler 3 yrs old.
Noticed when turning hot water on that the boiler lights werent on.

have a remote control switch to turn heating on and off. thats on fine, changed fuse in switch under boiler.
There is another box with lights on which picks up the remote control, therer is a red light flashing on that.
Is it supposed to be red or a green light.

Just cant get boiler on.?
Not sure its the switch

Any ideas or help would be grateful

Dave

if its working but you just cant see the display anymore its probably because youve had a slight leak on your boiler and its got to the information lead (purple low voltage) on the back of your user control box ( housing on/off switch and digital display) you could try cleaning the connections but on most i end up replacing the lead and user control housing. Worst case senario though is your main pcb is faulty (VERY common fault).

No i cant switch boiler on manually. wont come on. sockets all working and remote etc just nothing on boiler??? no lights on display or anything. baffled

someone mentioned maybe the user control might be at fault? ive tried with an electric screw driver and the the wire going into the back of the control unit is live, could it be that that needs replacing not the PCB, i thought cause there is power going into user control and no lights on it maybe it could be that?

the only power ( 240 v )that goes to the user control panel is to the on/off rocker switch which just interupts the live from the mains in to the pcb and then the lights on the front of the user control come from the pcb via the low voltage information cable (purple). You could just change the user control panel but i dont think it will work going on experience, make sure the purple lead and its connection on the user control is clean and not water damaged too, have you pulled the fuse out of the pcb to check it too?

yes checked the fuse and its ok, the purple leads are dry aswell, guess must be the pcb.
Thanks for the advice🙂 will look on internet to get one for it.
