Losing the will to live with Gazo.. (just a bit of a pig)

Fitting a dovre 425 ng BF with a vertical/horizontal flue ie 500mm off the top of the fire, Elbow & 1000mm out.

Customer ordered the fire, no probs with that

1 x 500mm vertical length BFx1 dovre 425 NG stove
1 x 500 horizontal length BF
1 x 500mm terminal length BF
1 x 90 degree elbow BF
1 x wall plate
1 x 75mm restrictor
1 x fixing screw
1 x Decorative collar for vertical flue kit(optional)
1 x suitable terminal guard (required)

This is a £1500.00 tin can with some cast panels that merely hang on it.

Bare in mind please This item was a special order(with a months lead time) from dovre/gazco it was ordered with a vertical termination kit; they sent it with a rear exit horizontal spigot.

We had to convert it to a Vertical termination on site - all the sealing gaskets for the exhaust and intake broke, despite meticulously care when removing blanking plates & flue fittings!

The 150mm elbow came damaged & out of shape and would not fit in the 500mm extension properly

Gazco agreed to replace all four gaskets & agreed to send another elbow.

After a couple of days they sent out replacement parts (after promising next day before 10am)... The wrong ducking parts! They sent us only two gaskets, replacement silicone seals for the exhaust & air intake(not asked for) & an elbow more mangled than the first one!!

We wasted 8 hours on site over 2 days waiting for the lousy but promised delivery! The parts were ment to be be coming today before 10am sure enough the extra set of gaskets came, but no fricken elbow! arrgggggggggghhhhhh!

Their service is a curse on customers, gas fitters & humanity!

And to top it off the customer is impatient and asked me ''cant we just make up some gaskets for it" NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! NO NO NO

I wanted to say to them - ''why are you in such a rush to have this fitted, such a rush that you would risk you own live with bodged gaskets ffs; Whats going to happen if it doesn't get fitted?? Is the family curse going to come re-ensue if you don't have it fitted by all hallows eve?''

If customer sorted the fire then let them deal with the hassle of getting the other bits in.

… remembering the dead with a new fire, why not!? The fire has to be done right though, otherwise there will be no one to open the door for trick or treat kids.

Also why do the put the sodding gas connection at the back right hand side when there is loads of room to come straight out the back of the gas valve
Ps it's not just you that gets wrong bits. I am a third party contractor and get wrong bit for warranty jobs!!!

Mate I was begging for mercy fitting the gas pipe. Believe me
