Hello just fitted to new cold and hot valves for the washing machine for my mother in law. I had to drain her hot water due to no stop tap nearby. When i put the water back on theres hot water everywhere apart from in the kitchen, it's just dripping and it's cold. She lives in a bungalow, any ideas please.
Thanks

hi sounds like an airlock to get rid of it just connect the hot and cold valves you fitted for the washing machine together using one of the w/m hoses open the hot valve fully and then slowly open the cold for about 20 seconds, close it then check the tap flow at the sink should be fixed. if still no flow just try again.

Get a washing machine hose, connect it to the hot and cold washing machine taps, open up both taps and let the cold water backfill the hot pipe blasting out the air lock, OR if youve got a kitchen mixer tap put your hand tightly over the end creating a seal and open up the hot tap then open up the cold tap, hold for 30 seconds then release.

Edit, SteveB beat me to it.

Thanks Chaps tried the 1st suggestion already but didnt work. I will try your second suggetion blackcatgas tomorrow. Her washing maching is in her utility room which is about 8 feet away from the bungalow. Thanks for your replies much appreciated.
