Macerator tripping breaker

Hi all i have the above running off a shower only, it only gets turned on when the shower get used approx 5 x 10mins per week. It worked fine until the other day i went to turn it on & it tripped my breaker, ive checked the wiring,fuse etc that runs to macerator seems ok (its also connected to an extractor fan used above the shower in a 3way splitter box). Thanks

Have you established whether it's definitely the macerators and not the fan?

And when you say 'breaker' is it the main RCD on the consumer unit tripping or the smaller MCB?
if it is the MCB, what value is it?

Its the whole house that trips & its a teenager that uses it & never puts the fan on! Its been fine for approx a year (from new). It isnt run continuosly so wear shouldnt be a problem imo, its were it is under the floor is a nightmare to get to for maintanece.

need to get to it to and have it checked, possibly leaking internally, water and electric don't mix well

If the RCD is tripping as you describe then it is a live/earth or a neutral/earth fault causing it.
Moisture in the offending unit is a likely culprit.

Going underfloor tomorrow wat should be my check list i.e wiring first or inside macerator for any foreign bodys that may have bern drooped down shower??? Many thanks for the replies

Unlikely to be a foreign body.

If you have the correct test equipment and know how to use it then the task should be easier.
A minuscule amount of moisture will cause an RCD to trip.
It might end up cheaper for you to call in a professional though.
