TF1 coz had grief with sticking valves and leaks with Magna's .... Came across the 'boiler buddy' once but didn't fancy splitting it to find it leaking when i put it back together!!!

do a search on here for filters you will find it debated over and over and over again try to stay awake

fernox TF1 everytime ,magnacleans leak and are generally poorly constructed. tf1 is easier to fit has a drain off at the bottom and can be installed in multiple configurations.

I have only ever fitted a TF1 but having seen a few types of filters now I think I would go for a spirotech maganbooster. Those magnacleans are plastic and leak as said previously. But the magnabooster is brass and is a sturdy piece of kit plus they are far easier to clean.

we use magnacleans, never had one leak yet and fitted over 100 but the plastic threads are prone to cross threading with the metal nuts, especially when connecting the magnacleanse unit to them

spirotech is very versatile in installation. is as effective as magnaclean, and (touch wood) hasn't leaked on me yet!

i prefer the magnaclean tbh IMHO its the best of the rest fitted loads not had one pop yest not fussed on the tf1 to big

I"ve fitted Spirotech and Magnaclean. The build quality of the Spirotech is good but nothing picks up the dirt like the Magnaclean.I've not had one leak yet either.

I use Spirotech maganbooster 2 on heatpumps because they are not as restrictive as other makes of filter and through experiance I have found they do not affect heat pump flow switches

I had a filter fitted two years ago at the same time as the system was flushed .Cleaned it as told by the plumber and the amount of swarf it picked up was amazing .My problem now is that it has started leaking from the top threads and worse still did it while we were away.
Tried everywhere to find seal kit or same filter but blank looks every where I tried but eventualy got a lead from this forum.
I was told by the manufacturer that they,d stopped making this unit over 3 years ago and where puzzled where the plumber had got it from as they had done a recell from suppliers.
They have told me they can let me have the seals but cannot guarantee this curing it.Its a Calmag Cal Clear so if any one else has one fitted please be aware of this.

Can any one tell me of a magnetic unit that I can install (simply please) using braided pipes as the inlet and outlet fittings are unique to the unit.

As I,m disabled and have a very limited budget both ease of installation an cost are major considerations but obviously what I have to pay for the unit I have to pay.

Many thanks

Here's a magnaclean I fitted this am

Only installed for 10min!!!!
