lame plumber

just watched Marley and me yet again with the Mrs. Had me laughing as it was my black lab all over, problem is he hit ten years old and then slowed down, so now he's 11 even I can keep up with him on a walk! Not looking forward to the next chapter at all 🙁

Hadn't had a dog for 2 years after our jack Russell had to be put down due to old age.
Marley and Me had me blubbering like a baby when he pegged it and 2 weeks later we got daisy the border terrier.

Christ, it took me about 5 mins after the end before i could speak 🙁

Found out yesterday our 7 year old blue roan spaniel has lymphoma. Vet reckons he's got 2 months to a year. The way he's deteriorated the last week I don't think he'll last a month. I'm heartbroken, took him to the vets because he was off his food, thought he'd need antibiotics or something
No more dogs for us after this one, it's too upsetting when they go.

Just been tonight reckon winston got 3 - 6 months heart failure. He's been heavy on **** and drink for a few years. He was checked a year ago to the day and told he has a really strong heart. Been treating with meds for 4 months and seeing chardiologist. It's heart wrenching that u can't do anything for your best mate !

Feel for you all having or have had a bad time. Never had another after mine died she was a one off, trained with love and patience from a puppy to walk by my heal off lead, controlled with hand signals to stop, sit, down, paw, go to bed. Could put treats on her paws when she was in sit postion and she never would never eat the treats until given the go-a-head signal and best of all she knew when I was feeling down. Tend to make a fuss of customers dogs and sometimes the customer tell the dog to let him go coz he`s got work to do.

mine arent trained really, they do come back properly but if food is around your on a loser, they show utter devotion what ever happens and Im not allowed another labbie pup as the mrs is fed up of all the hair balls. best thing is when I had flue they took it in turns to keep me company 🙂

I love training dogs and I believe they enjoy it as well. Sister has a Corgi cross which drops fur like crazy in the summer so one summer whilst they was here I got the stiff brush out and also had the vac running to catch the fur as it was dislodged, he didn`t like it much at first and growled like mad but after 20 minutes he was ok, sisters p*ssed though coz he wont let her do it.

Thanks guys and sorry to hear about your own dog troubles. I just love the buggers too much to have another.

Seems we have more in common than plumbing and gas work on here.....feel for you guys with poorly pooches regards Turnpin give em an extra pat or stroke from me

The only thing that could tempt me to retire is the fact that I could have a dog again and would have the time to walk it.

Fingers crossed for all of you with sick animals.

Buried my handsome buddy today in the garden. He went from a lively happy dog to a bag of bones in a fortnight. Vet said he was struggling but in no real pain, if we'd left it another day he would have been in agony with organs failing so we had him put down just in time.

RIP Lex, best dog i've ever had.

Sorry if i've bummed anyone out, monday's a misery at the best of times lol.

I don't have pets because I understand how precious they are and don't want the sadness of losing one and seeing it suffer before the inevitable.
