Hello,

I have a Mira 415 (post 1992) shower unit connected to a combi boiler. When the shower is turned on, water leaks from the front of the housing where the cartridge spindle comes through. I have replaced the o rings and fitted a new cartridge. The unit is assembled as per the diagram in the booklet. Any ideas?

When I dismantled the unit, there was a second o-ring behind the plastic collar on the cartridge shaft, flattened and split - it didn't look like it was meant to be there!.:nono:

Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions.

Hi deedub,

It does sound like a seal is either missing or letting by. Have you checked the exploded diagram on the showerdoc website to check that you have all the seals in place. I'm guessing that the "o" ring that was damaged does need to be there somewhere.

Maybe somebody with more experience of this particular shower valve can offer you more help.

Hi Paulus,

All seals and fittings are correctly installed as per the diagram. It does show the plastic collar as 'A' )part of the o-ring replacement kit) in the diagram but is not included in the o-ring replacement kit. I wonder if this collar has a seal inside it that's missing?

Welcome any other suggestions
