I've read previous posts about loss of signal during showers, but i think my problem might be different....

10yr old Mira Platinum shower. Situated in loft, just above the bathroom. No problems for 9years.
the previous controller started suddenly switching off mid shower over a year ago.
We moved it to the corridor, thinking the electronics where getting steamy. This worked a treat!
But 2months ago it started powering off randomly again, and then simply died.

bought a replacement controller from Plumbworld (hoping it would work, and that the shower unit itself wasn't dead!)
initially, the NEW controller worked fine for a month, but it has now switched off 3 times (it's kept in the bathroom, but away from the shower, so it never gets wet). The controller simply powers off in the middle of a shower, and the shower stops.
I"m worried it's going to go the same way as my previous controller!

i intend to take the battery cover off and keep it in the corridor away from steam.

have you heard of this problem before? Do you think this controller is faulty?

it is NOT set to Eco.
F8 control frequency was set to off. I turned it on, to see if helps! There’s no selectable number 1-9, as in the brochure. Not sure what this Control Frequency is about. I assumed it was to change frequency in case of interference from mobile phones etc.
