right guys to do this job or not, landlord cert to be done. At first she said its a new boiler to the meter and cooker ( the way she put it ) I just randomly asked her if its rented house and did you not get a new landlords cert when your new boiler was installed, her reply was No he couldn as it was a homer buy a friend of a friend who works for scottish gas so could sign anything off/ give certificate, Alarms bells ringing

I asked had the boiler been signed off/commissioned yes course it has. but she has new students going shortly so she needs landlord to be done.

i no the rights and wrongs here just wondering what you guys would do here cause surely some of you guys have had this before.

Thanks steven

Hi Steven 🙂 As long as you know you're gonna get paid for the LSC then go do it. What you find and action on is what you report back to the Landlord. If the job was a homer or not make's no difference safety wise it's what you find when you turn up and ultimately report back to the Landlord that matters... IMO!!!

Agreed with above.

Let me re-phrase it...

Just do your gas safety cert, and check it all through. Job done. (whatever the outcome).

If the job has never been registered, then it's a funny one. People seem to think that they can get a non registered fitter in to change their boiler (cheap) and then get a registered fitter in to provide a CP12 and everyone is happy.

Doesn't quite work like that though, as it's fueling the non registered market.

in scotland we dont need to register any of our work, Tbh it kind ****es me off as scottish gas workers are not allowed to do this but get away with it. Dannypipe she says it has been done but i have a feeling its not, if the scottish gas boy has turned round and said o i its signed off the landlord will take his word. so am guessing.

Diamond Gas :-yes very true, from my eyes you will be unable to tell if its been commissioned which i would be shuting down the boiler until done. i no for a fact kick up fuss not getting paid. so may just going check everything and see what happens.

Dannypipe work for scottish gas or not there still done have there own ticket to fit boilers. must the landlords will get away with this tho

As long as you can sign on the dotted line that all the checks you have done are safe then you're okay IMHO .... doesn't matter if under the floor there are hose pipes and jubilee clips you can only test what is visible and report your findings!! 🙂 That's my opinion anyhoo's 🙂 You are not accountable for others installations but have to check the safe working of the appliance and gas soundness of the installation?

if the boiler's got a fault history you might be able to gain some insight into whether it was tested properly during commissioning - might be able to interrogate it for flame failure fault hopefully corresponding to testing of fsd. not a solution, but it might help build a picture. think i'd go along with diamondgas on this one though - you can only make your assessment and say what you see.
