Visited a customer today with a CO alarm triggering. They lived in a rented house and had only been there a few months. On entering there was a lingering smell of fumes. Notes a Morso Squirrel gas stove (like a wood burner) on the hearth with the door open. Checked appliance and confirmed it was room sealed as per the concentric BF duct and the metal data badge which clearly indicated the appliance category and that it was BF. Customer stated that they had had a recent landlords safety check but the engineer didnt positively identify the appliances as RS and so they were operating it with the door open !
This is not suprising as the door has a handle which might suggest that it can be opened however the appliance can also be fitted as OF and there is a hex key grubscrew built into the handle which must be secured when its BF to ensure the window /door isnt opened.
Customer said they had been feeling ill/headache..
Morso are Danish imports..
One to look out for..
