Jaffacake

Hi

I would like to move my downstairs bathroom from the front of the house to the back of the house (still downstairs)

As far as I know there isn't a main drain (manhole cover) in the back garden and I live in a terraced property.

Is this feasible, would it be a massive job and roughly how much would it cost

Thanks

Hi there jaffacacke, going by some of the terraced houses where i stay even if theres no manhole doesnt mean there isnt drains, without more details its hard to say but what i can say is anythings possible,
Welcome to the forum,

Hi there is downstairs floors wooden or concrete? if their wooden cut a hatch and look underneath and you may see pipework if they are concrete you will have more of a job with wastepipes also if your kitchen is at back of house then more than likely there will be soil pipe unless it is running under house good luck..brum

Contact your water authority, they may provide sewer/waste pipe diagram.

Hi all,

Thank you for responding.

Brum - The floor is mostly wood floor and part concrete. Ty

Kris/Wetdrip - I did contact Thames Water and they have said because my house was built around 1902 they have a few records that are very vague ty

AWheating - ty

Do any of you helpful peeps know if I would have to have a drain installed in the back leading to the front main drain?

Not sure if this is the only way but I thought I would have to do as above, which would go out of the house and then back in and under front room floor (wooden and has approx 3ft void). Really difficult to explain, can I post pics on here it might help if you could see how the house is

Thank you all again
