Hi,
I've just moved a Baxi Solo 24HE. It fires up okay, but after the main burners light it shutsdown. Does this 3 times then locksout.
However, with the air box door removed boiler fire up and runs fine!

Any ideas where the problems is?

Fangita! Check electrodes and that insulation didn't get wet when u tipped it upside down and the Conny trap got it all wet.... Sounds like rectification fault. Earth conn good? U checked inside burner for issues?

That's an air flow issue by the sounds of it. Did you re use the same flue? Possibly re circulation of POC. These are renound for the blue flue seal to perish. Also check the vacuum tube (little copper pipe on top of gas valve) for moisture if so clean it and refit.

Thanks guys. It's a new (PDK) flue, and I though the blue seal at the top of the boiler was rather pathetic. My thoughts were either vitiation (but I think it uses flame rectification instead!) or contaminated air. I think maybe the inner flue seal at the top of the boiler is allowing POC into the air intake.

Electrodes and seals all seem fine.

Will call Baxi today.

Are the electrode cables shorting to the air box?

No, I think they're okay.

I spoke to Baxi and they said to check the venturi is not blocked and when I mentioned the flue seal they said that's also possible.

On closer inspection today, I can see POC back in from the inside of the boiler, so I guess it's the seal. No in stock anywhere local, so will replace seal in the New Year - thankfully the property is empty so not a problem. Will report back when it's fixed.

Thanks for all your help and advice, and have a good one.
