I am going to do my lpg course soon as I have knocked back alot of lpg cooker installs recently

Can we use this thread to discuss the main differences . i.e how do you gas rate an lpg appliance.

I also know the calorific values are different .

So what else guys is the main differences and working practices between the gases.

One sinks in air and the other rises (LPG heavier and natural lighter).

I'm quite chuffed with that answer considering I only do oil

:6:

You can't gas rate l.p.g unless there is a meter fitted, hardly ever the case. Hope I'm not wrong in saying a combustion test is acceptable in place of. L.p.g is higher pressure. so your cooker installs must be either for l.p.g use or must be able to be converted. Note pipework is mainly the same but are some difference's in fittings and sealing arrangements

Nightmare if you do caravans mate with imperial pipework.

Most LPG jobs we go to are nowhere near up to standards so we get a lot of work through that, so a cooker install can double in profit.

can anyone enlighten me to the right way to do a tightness test on lpg? i did my van by gesswork after finding about 20 different methods on the web

There's different methods depending on the installation type to be honest! Bit if a headache.

lpg is heavier and therefore additional dangers, how do you make a leak safe when the occupier has a cellar? think of that one

yes, carrying buckets of lpg out of the cellar, how do you know when youve got it all? where do you pour it? lol

come on give us some proper info about this LPG ,I'll be doing my soon as here in Orkney most cookers are LPG ! and boilers Oil .come on give us some info

Any info will be good ,yes i am GSR ! Have just seen a place where they do conversion from natural gas to LPG so i will be doing it as all houses have gas hobs and such here
