Need new drill please

Hi Friends

I've lost/had stolen my Bosch cordless drill.

It wasn't expensive or top of the range but was good for me, had 2 batteries etc.

I need to buy a new one, my mate has a Makita drill and impact driver in the same case but they're £300.

Any ideas or recommendations please?

Dewalt to a similar twin pack to the makita but it's about £180 ish at screwfix(i think )

Most of the 2 speed makitas are usually on offer at around £130 rocket. Travis perkins , plumfix etc are always doin deals.

Have a look at heating world of spares. I was in yesterday and they were pushing makita as they had just started stocking it. Dont know how competitive it is though. Im a milwaukee convert.

When I had my van broken into, I had all my drills and some tools stolen :-(

I needed a drill quickly because I had to hang 4 radiators the next day. I bought this one

DeWALT 18v Combi Drill & 2 batteries, 5035048269466

its only cheap, but it does the job. I still haven't replaced any of my other drills that where stolen, but I haven't had to as I don't do installations anymore.

If I where to do installations again, then I'd obviously replace them.

But the most I ever drill is radiator brackets or things like flue terminal guards etc

I'm a fan of B&Q tools. Decent quality, cheap, long guarantees so when you work them to death; hey presto they give you a new one.
Don't pay in tradepoint though as you lose any extended warranty.

Have you got the 18v cordless mike. ive had some grief with the chuck on mine. Also my 28v sds drills in slow mo now ( has been thrashed for 5 years though). Also while were talking drills, do dewalt lithium batteries fit the old ni cad drills. Got 3 in the garage but the batteries are rubbish.?

Have many of you chaps got impact drivers?
was told by a carpenter wouldn't be that suitable for my/our job.
Also going to buy a mini angle grinder soon, by reading what most of you've put you'd buy the Milwaukee one over the makita? It's only £7 dearer than the makita.

Ive got a bosch corded grinder and it been going for donkeys years. impact drivers are good for big meaty screws but you need one to take the bleeding things back out.. I havent got one, i just pilot drill if the screws a monster..
