Nest 2nd gen installation advice

I haven't mate. Unsure whether it's worth the risk. I'm not the greatest at electrics as you may have gathered. The way I've done it is I've removed the old receiver and used the existing wiring to the new nest. The nest receiver is ready to pair with the stat but the stat can't pick it up. When I spoke to nest they asked whether pressing the button on the receiver switched the heating on, and it doesn't. So they suggested a pro have a look at the wiring.

But surely if the Nest receiver is powered by 230v wouldn't that then transfer to the stat if I linked it in ?
