I have had a new boiler installed which is noisier than the old one when it fires up. I understand that this is normal for modern boilers but it is proving irritating. The boiler is located in a cupboard in a bedroom. The boiler is a Main 24 HE. I am thinking of building an acoustic casing within the boiler cupboard to try and minimise the noise level. My query is about ventilation for this boiler. The cupboard door does not have any ventilation - do I assume that it it is ventilated via the flue and I needn't worry about enclosing the boiler?
