old laptop finally died, luckily backed up on usb, so off we went for a replacement. Got the cheapest I could find , no cdrom drive so back to swap it for a more expensive one and off home. Windows 8 aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh. eventually through many taps and moans we get online, so next we want an email, wheres the smtp and pop addresses gone, you know the old fashioned way of booting it up, no now you are asked your domain???? plumbing don't work 🙂 or other daft questions. The whole laptop is slower than before as windows 8 must use 200ram to turn on let alone work. Why cant they just give you a laptop with excel on it and I would be a happy bunny.

Just getting too old, next thing I'll be attending Doggie agility with my daughter and her daft Retriever, who is 8 so a bit old according to the trainer. Didn't stop the b*gger being super agile and fecking off over the 8 foot wall into the audience section to go and visit the lady dog on heat that some daft irriot had bought along not realising.

I really hate windys 8.
I bought a laptop with it on justs before christmas and it lasted about 2 hrs beforei lost patience and formatted it and put xp pro on.

Absolutlely everything else is complete pants.

I've got Ubuntu on my laptop. Got all my office programs on it and I can browse the internet. Only thing I use it for and its given this sluggish lappy a new lease of life.

I heard there stopping updates for XP soon, shame because it is the best ive ever used. That windows 8 is a pain ...just hate it when it when your on the desktop and keeps goin to that opening app page for absolutely no reason ...grrrr

Windows 8 is complete and utter turd. I got it on the special pre-order offer of £20. It isn't even worth that, got rid of it and put Windows 7 back on. The computer is so much faster after the 'downgrade'.

I'm using 7 and its fine for Excel, Word etc, but I have to run an XP emulator to get some of our older software to run. They turned off a lot of the backward compatibility with 7.

it took several hours to not get email for widows 8 connected, 5 min to load and set up firefox email!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have windows 8 and hate everything about it. Going to look into 'downgrading' to an older system. Didn't think you could go backwards
