hi could anyone answer this question for me??

my neighbour had to remove his bathroom sink yesterday for tiling purposes and had to switch hot water off, after hed re coneccted sink and turned valve back on has had no hot water since?

im not sure but could this be a broken valve or something more basic??

It sounds like the gate valve on the incoming mains is faulty, you can get all sorts of problems with these as they are not used frequently.

I would get a plumber out to change it, if you mess with it yourself you might end up with a lot of water pumping into the place at mains pressure and the next isolating valve is out in the street and under a cover.
