Hi
I’m in the process of redoing my bathroom and adding a exposed thermostatic shower mixer
I have a Potterton Titanium 33 (ErP) Combi Boiler
My question is do I need to add non return valves to the hot and cold feeds to the mixer ?
If necessary what is the maximum distance from the mixer that would be ok ?
Reason I ask is I have fitted everything already and intended to add them but forgot
I can add them about a metre away which is still exposed to fit
Cheers

Only if the shower hose is long enough to be able to be dangled into the shower tray. Otherwise no. And it doesn't matter that they would be a metre distant.

Dcv or scv don’t protect against cat 5 water so best to make sure it doesn’t go below spill level

Unless the OP can dangle the handset in the WC, I don't understand the reference to Category 5 water. A shower tray would be Category 3, unless legislation has changed recently without my knowing.

Shaun?

Bath or shower water is cat 5 also kitchen sink is cat 5 aswell classed as dirty contaminated

Edit

Sorry your right commercially it’s cat 5 but diy it’s cat 3

So dcv is acceptable

Many customers think your crazy when you tell them you want to fit a restraint because the head can reach the toilet. Fit a very short hose and leave the longer hose on the window cill for the customer to "store" 👍
