first crossing with this company...

my customer has a overfilling cws tank problem. they called rightio out and the 'lad' had to call his boss for ideas i was told.
he tested the header tank?.
he turned off the cold main!.
he then turned on the heating and waited for 20 mins for it to get warm....

fitted a new ball cock....
(the origional problem still exists, think its the kitchen mixr).

then charged the customer for 1hr 10 mins. .this is in nottingham av price £45ph.

£198+vat =£239.....wwwwwwwwtf

i told him to get a refund.:smartass:

going back next week to fit new tap and a few other bits so if i keep below £120 ph and clock in and out i could be on a good earner..geeeez

Nipped in the merchants today and was shown a picture of a wicks combi one of the other customers had come across. Someone had used a pan connector as a flue!! I'm not kidding I really wish I was.

i know it's not the same company but it does make you question how people are getting away with it!

Rightio / Was Trade-Tec / Was Reactfast , only thing in there favour customer is told what rates are B4 plumber calls, so doesn't have to accept , still amazes me how meny people do, cos they cant get a local plumber !!

Yes I know its hard to believe but true, I used to ask there customers the same question ! Contracted to them for over 10 years, even done jobs in next street where I lived and was told by customer we couldn't get local plumber, surprised when I told them I lived less than 5min away

My missus uses a Facebook group for our local area, she told me the other night that someone had posted that they had called 22 plumbers the previous night, to look at a leaking toilet and none of them would come out. I had a person say to me I have phoned up 10 people and I need someone today ( this was Thursday) to look at a leak but no one will come out

I said yes not a problem I can be with you this afternoon

Brilliant she said then said how much do you charge?

I said £40 for the first hour and £30 after that

Oh she said that's a bit more than my normal plumber he charges £20 an hour but okay but only if it would take you an hour.

I said I can't make any promises but will see what we can do. I then asked her her address and she said Penzance (about 50 minutes from me) I then said I don't normally cover Penzance and I won't drive down there for £40 so said I would charge 2 hours for the first hour so would be £70 for the first hour

She said well I don't want to pay that much

I said well I can be with you this afternoon but as you are 50 minutes away from me I would charge for and extra hour to cover travelling time.

She then said well I can do it in 35 minutes so you can do it for £40?

I replied quite bluntly it will be £70 for the first hour and then £30 after that and I have now got to go as I'm working and let me know if you need me to come down.

So the moral of the story never believe that people can't get someone chances are they have turned the ones down that we're willing to go out to them and eventually they are only left with the emergency companies.
