had a oops moment yesterday ,

turned up on a job to pipe kitchen sink and notice the chip pie has not fitted the sink top like most do .

ask why he has not fitted it and the cust says that he said its my job .

turns out its on of those heavy ceramic sinks ,

chippie has had a slope shoulders I'm done moment .
anyhows this top has knock outs for the taps

im not happy about this at all tells cust this any issues and its down to you

she agrees
first tap of knock out a ping sinks shattered lol

oops

I have knocked them out but good idea about drilling them. 365 Drills has a page on drilling sinks [DLMURL="http://www.*********.com/pages/sink.htm"]here[/DLMURL]
I sweat when they don't mark the hole with a sticky dot or circle in the back of the porcelain and you have to measure 20 times to make sure you're punching out the right spot

I was helping me old dad with a kitchen he was fitting yesterday, he was lifting the ceramic sink in position with great care and the corner of the eff'n thing broke in his hand for no reason.

He drilled the blank out of it though with no issues; I didn't want to touch the thing.
I was thinking on of those little diamond hole cutters would do a nice job

Hahahahaha....brilliant!

Hindsight being a wonderful thing I think I would've been straight on the phone to Richard a ********* for advice.

I'm sure I've seen him mention this kind of thing before.

I've never had a problem knocking them out. i always do it with the sink sat in the hole so it's supported all the way round. It's the way the manufacturers tell you to do it, if it fails it's down to them. I'm not wasting my time faffing around with diamond drills when a quick tap with a hammer will do the trick.
