Yes it may not be air/ water tight but it's built to the manufacturers spec and anything out with that is deemed inappropriate. If that's the argument about it being negative pressure why have a case?

put a screw in it, or dob- weld it!
how did he do that without entering the ***bustion chamber anyhow?

Sod that if I'd break it up for parts...take it to a local body shop, they can weld up the hole and respray it.

I agree with everyone's opinion totally but what makes me laugh is these boilers are no where near airtight. Internal water leaks make there way out pretty quickly. Given there negative pressure combustion chambers no one is that fussed so what harm would some high temp silicone do on the inside and some on the outside where the cable goes through? As it should be checked annually it can be monitored and re applied as necessary. In my eyes that would be ok but what if it never gets serviced? Probably nothing at all!

Engineering judgement. ....

At least you'll have a van full of brand new spare parts now!

Last I heard the sparks is stripping it down and putting it all on ebay. Try to recooperate some of his loss.

Honestly do not know what was going through his head. I have never heard of someone doing this before!

just cap it and walk off wouldn't even bother with phoning the manufacturer.

Back in the developers hands then isn't it with what he wants to do .
