Do you know the sort I mean?

I have only come across them once, on a replacement motor for a Grundfoss saniflo type thing. They were used to secure the cable to the motor. I had to remove the cable from the new pump and re-use the old one as the one in place was chased in the wall and run through boxing so it made sense time wise.

I was able to undo these nuts using a flat head and twisting them off but not without it slipping and giving me a inch long gash. Is there a specific tool for these some sort of spanner?

I was lucky using the screwdriver actually worked but its not ideal.

Any help appreciated thanks.

Not circlips, I have circlip pliers.

I will try to find a picture.

It looks like a smooth round nut with a bite out of it.

The nuts were surprisingly easy to get off but that wont always be the case, there must be something.

Even with a clear head all I can remember is 2 nuts and I used a long reach socket on them so guess they changed sometime. Could always isolate at the fused spur and at the fuse box then cut and join the cables with a proper IP68 cable connector which is what I often do.
