I want to paint over the plumbers mate that I used to fill in and seal the down outlet from a toilet bowl into a cast iron waste pipe. Not having read the instructions properly I didn't realise that plumbers mate doesn't harden off. I have had a suggestion to scrape the bevel on the seal off and used a polifilla mix to tart it up which will be paintable. Another suggestion was to use a white pain Spraycan. That way there would be no pressure on the Plumbers mate like there would be if I had used a brush.

It's too late now but is there a supplier of cosmetic white plastic covers that could fit over the seal?

I have a wife on my back about getting this job finished as she wants a carpet laid down in the toilet before Christmas. " A carpet in a toilet." I ask you!

P.S. Don't ask about the name. It was a long time ago I got it in the Middle East. I was a very naughty soldier.😎
