Hi, I'm looking for a pencil flame tip for my Rothernberger Superfire 2. Rothernberger stopped making them six months ago. Would anyone know where I can find some old stock or a suitable alternative. Many thanks.
Welcome to the forum. Although you can post in any forum, the USA forum is here in case of local regs or laws
gooogle it loads online
Try a search on ebay. Someone will have one.
So are these pencil burners any good then? What difference does it make apart from over heatinh the fitting
what about this
Thanks Steve but will that fit a Superfire 2 torch? If it only works with Propane I dont think Propane is hot enough for brass.
I want it for brazing bicycle frame lugs. You need a fine flame to clean up the shoreline. I've used Oxy/Acetylene until now. But it's just too expensive for amateur framebuilders.
have you seen how they braze up bike frames with those brass billet lugs?
you wont get a high power'd pencil flame from a superfire 2 imo.
you will have to use oxgyen/gas mix for a small flame to be hot enough.
when the seat clamp gets assembled a piece of brass (billet) about 15mmx12mm sq gets pushed into the clamp bolt recess. the fitting is then dipped into that white powdery flux type past (cant remember the name of it) then it is heated by 5 propane torches with a flame not unlike a standard superfire torch but from all 5 angles for around 2minutes on a carousel. job done!. no drips or run out.No. What's a brass billet lugs??
