These are shipped in by the container load from China, I fitted one 3 years ago and a month later 6.5 bar of pressure blew it apart and was spraying out all day against the far wall of the bathroom. Tennant got home to find water dripping through ceiling.

(((((((((Total junk, not fit for purpose!!!))))))))

Hmm.... I thought that when I first saw it but whole housing estates are plumbed in plastic so I decided it would be ok. I've ordered a brass one which should arrive on Friday hopefully. I'll give the customer the option.
Mind you, it only cost afew quid more so I'm not sure what I'll get

Buy cheap, replace 2,3,4 times.

Bristan every time for me.

We don't do enough Bristan for me to comment, but we sell many thousand bar valves. Our return rate in warranty on the top bar valve from the country's most famous premium shower manufacturer is 0.5%. About half of those are cosmetic damage or poor finish.

Checking the same stats for our cheap-as-chips imported Cassellie Regal bar mixer, the rate does rise, but only to 1.26%. Again, nearly half of those problems are cosmetic.

But I still dont fancy a plastic one.

While on the subject on bar mixers, why do any other kind exist?

Bar mixers need to replaced, takes two seconds. They look good, easy to use, expensive ones available. Built in: arguably look a *little* better. Often cause huge pain in the rear to change sometimes involving retiling. What be the point?
