plumbers merchants

Does anyone have the same grief as what i get down the plumbers merchants? plumb center generally being the worst of the worst . If i order materials for anything i am nearly always quoted wrong price usually a dearer on wrong side then get call back day later after i submitted my quote to customer.Or they tell me it includes vat and doesn't ,any parts are usually ordered incorrectly even tho i state models ,gc no's etc for me to turn up following day and get given incorrect parts ,or i will oreder various materials fittings etc only to be given incorrect amount (not enough , or wrong size etc)
This always seems to be plumb center its getting rather constant and doing my head in , i use other merchants but plumb seem to be readily available in areas i work ,,,,,,,,,bloody annoying !!!!

When I first started to use plumb I found them terrible, but I was using different ones all the time. Now I just use the same on each time I need something and know the people behind the counter and have no problems with them at all.

i find they dont like going looking for anything if its not on the shelf in front of them, the amount of times ive asked for something and they've said no we dont sell em then i ask em for alternatives they finally go an look and come out with the thing you were after in the first place

Its doing my head in as they are now costing me money , i do use others but its normally a case of travelling as plumb normally are closer as they have more depots . Like you say some of it is laziness. I swear some of the staff think they are plumbers as well with some of the rubbish i hear .

My local Plumb center used to be a nightmare to deal with, always incorrect parts ordered or missing. Since they changed managers they seem to have got their house in order. But of course that's just my branch. Now Im getting decent discounts that I never used to get.

It all depends I use Build Center in the town, really good plumbing section, but only get deliveries on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but it depends who you see in there. Then theres Plumb at Bishop, pretty good and then theres Plumb at Darlo, chocolate fire gaurd springs to mind.
We als have S & A in the town, but the world would have to end for me to go in there, as you walk in the counter staff head for the hills, apparently plumbing is a foreign language to them. I once went to price a job, customer says she has account at S & A, I say would never use them in a million years poor service etc, she says the A in S & A is her father. Got the job!🙂

if p.c is 5 miles from the job and another merchant 10 miles in the other direction.
guess which one i would use?.

i only get ripped of twice (i allow for mistakes) and thats it.

all their staff are reluctant to work there or havnt a clue what a 'o' ring is.imo.

PC in belfast and portadown aren't too bad, counter staff helpful enough. but does it ever take time for components not in stock to come in!
