Hypothetical scenario;

Trades on the job are plumber, electrician, plasterer and kitchen fitter. Kitchen has an integrated dishwasher. Plumber in 2nd fix fits cold isolation valve and provides waste pipe connection in unit next to dishwasher (under kitchen sink).

Nothing had been specifically quoted for with regards to dishwasher installation.

In a usual scenario would the fitting, levelling and final connections of the integrated dishwasher lye with the plumber, electrician or kitchen fitter?

Would surely depend on who included it in their quote? If its been missed by customer and its not included within anyones quote/contract then it should be an added extra that either plumber or possibly kitchen fitter would do once price agreed.

These can be a nightmare to do, I expect everyone’s avoiding it.
As said, it should be agreed already.

Customer is project managing and supplying the dishwasher. It's been fitted by kitchen fitter (and charged for as they said it was not included in their price) but they are expecting it deducted from the plumbing invoice as assumed it was part of the plumbing second fix

(Hypothetically)

What's happening about the washing machine, tumble drier, oven, hob, fridge and or any other appliances.?

The job might as well go to the plasterer, he's neutral in the situation.😀

That's taking the mickey, whether it was in your initial quote or not they shouldn't let another tradesman do it, with the intention of passing on the cost to you, without talking to you about it first.

Washing machine is freestanding so plumber did his good deed and fitted that for them

Who wrote the contract? If it was them then, if there is doubt, they are out of luck. If you wrote the contract and it's not clear then you may be obligated to do the work as an 'implied term'. I don't believe that they can expect you to pay for someone else of their choosing to do it without giving you the opportunity to do it first.

Hypothetically,

Is the customer complaining about the additional cost of a trade fitting a dishwasher?

What is wrong with people, in a complete kitchen refit what percentage is this item? Pay your tradesmen properly and then find them helpful and accommodating now and in the future.

Definitely kitchen fitter if it's integrated. To do it properly the other doors in the run of units all need to be adjusted along with the dishwasher to get it seamless so it has to be down to the kitchen guy.

of course it is the plumber's call

In a typical scenario, the responsibility for fitting, leveling, and making final connections for an integrated dishwasher would generally fall within the realm of the kitchen fitter's duties. This is because the installation of kitchen appliances, including integrated dishwashers, is typically part of the kitchen fitting process.

However, the specific division of responsibilities can vary depending on the agreement or contract between the parties involved. If nothing has been explicitly outlined or quoted for regarding dishwasher installation, there may be room for negotiation or clarification among the trades involved (plumber, electrician, and kitchen fitter) to determine who will handle this task.

In many cases, the plumber might have installed the necessary plumbing connections (such as cold water supply and waste pipe) in preparation for the dishwasher installation, but the final installation, leveling, and electrical connections (if applicable) would likely be carried out by the kitchen fitter or an electrician, depending on the agreed-upon scope of work. Communication and coordination among the trades involved are crucial to ensure a smooth and successful installation process.
