No other country does it better, just watched the highlights of Margaret Thatchers funeral, not interested in opinions whether it was expensive, whether you thought she was good or not.

No other country does the pomp and ceremony the way the British can, I suppose thats what history gives us.

I now want a state funeral.

its the uniforms of the cavalry, the guards regiments, massed bands. We can not be beaten by any country when it comes with this sort of thing.

Something rarely found in brummieland - Pompḗ (Greek: πομπή), usually translated as pomp or procession, the name of the first part of several Ancient Greek festivals, such as Dionysia and Lenaia.

As long as I don't ever find you in Brummieland then I don't care what it has or hasn't got 🙂

I agree, but in stark contrast check out YouTube video "THATCHER FUNERAL 2" posted by ghogg69
It was made in Coatbridge where I live, and is worse than embarrassing
The opening shot is 2 guys with a black banner

I have enough of that crap over here. I always laugh when I see cretins like that bleating about how it's Thatcher 's fault the hunger strikers died. They chose to commit suicide. Their families could've stepped in but didn't. Are they murderers too? No they're feted as minor celebs and the family of 'martyrs'.

And as for putting che guevara on the tricolour **snort**

Don't forget the italians are quite good at pomp. And youve got to take your hat of to a pm that uses call girls.

Someone wrote in the press that the funeral felt like "burying England" and I tend to agree with him. It was London based celebrating Englishness and had not a lot to do with being British or the rest of the UK.

When it's my time I'll donate what ever organs I have left that are useable.
