Poor IKEA Response

I contacted IKEA Customer Support to find if the trap in their 'ATLANT' single sink kit is resealing (anti-syphon). After many IKEA internal phone calls the Customer Service person said no-one he talked to in the kitchen section of the store knew, that there was nothing in the technical information and none of their fitters were answering their phones and IKEA could not help me. He also added that several of those he spoke to did not know what a syphon was! Not very encouraging - but it seems a common experience with any simple technical queries I make these days to all sorts of outlets. Am I staring in the face the reason for the UKs continuing decline I wonder!

Does anyone out there know the answer to the technical query please?

I fitted one about five years ago, that one did not. There is a thread under "Ikea sink plumbing questions."
If that is any help.

surprised if anyone at noikea knows what a sink is, they just take payments and tell you where stuff is.

Initially I spent about three hours researching the internet for some technical information and came accross the thread you suggest - but it contains no useful information I am afraid.

They do have customer service people who were willing to look through the technical information - that was what was deficient. The sad thing is that they did not go the extra mile and leave a mesage for their fitters to ring back and perhaps be able to answer the query.

ikea kitchens are a nightmare no gap behind cupboards
if its the same trap theyve used for a few years its definatly not anti vac in fact its more pro vac comes with an odd sized flexi which we found best to drop straight down into a 2 inch multifit
worst thing is theres nno option as nothing else fits there sinks
