Morning Everyone.
Hopefully some of you can give me a little more advice. I've recently switched my water pump and now have heated rads, which was a change from yesterday. My issue now is that the two port valve doesn't seem to be working, or is stuck open. Its a two port Honeywell valve on a boiler / tank config. I believe this is a vented system
. When selecting hot water only on the programmer the boiler doesn't fire.
. Motorised valve does not move
. Lever is stuck in the sprung position - closed
. When selecting heating on the programmer boiler boiler fires
. Motorised valve does not move (as I would expect)
. However pipe is hot both sides of the valve and water tank heats to scalding temperatures.

I suspect that the valve is stuck open. I can move the rotor arm in the housing without any problem, but it always springs back to closed. I'm really loathed to change the whole thing as I've not drained my system before but 'think' I have found the appropriate drain points on reds and tank and can also block the two tanks in the roof. The valve itself is inconveniently placed is a corner with pipes either side meaning that its going to be a pain to get a spanner in to remove. The valve doesn't have the dimple and motor inside is exposed, unlike the Syncros replacements I've seen.
. Is there any way to test with a multimeter to see if the valve or relay are unserviceable
. Or a way to electronically force the valve open / close signal.
I dont want to have to drain down faff with replacement and find its not at fault!

Many Thanks in advance for your help.

how old is the valve ? they do a replacement head for them it has 2 screws at the bottom of the body in the head that, ill try and find a link to 1 for you
