went to a property just now with a potterton 24 he and as soon as i go to the boiler it lights so i check the gas pressures inlet and outlet then the boiler goes out with flame failure light on,after a few times resetting it it re lit and then a few minutes it extinguished again and flame failure light comes back on and too my overall luck potterton technical has shut.
has anyone any idea what this could be?

fan runs fine pump runs fine co levels are fine and the such like

ill give that a go as im servicing the boiler on friday i just dont understand why it lights and runs fine and the goes out poxy boilers knew i shoulda stuck with just plumbing lol

Welcome to the dark side LOL , The reasons could be numerous with out looking at the manual APS ,electrode, venturi if there is one ,dirty electrode , loose connection perhaps , I you sure its not going out due to to much heat perhaps ?

I reckon ites the venturi, or a flue blockage, no reason for it to come on and just block out unless its getting to temp and not pumping away? Is it circulating?

it depends how long it is staying on for , if it was the venturi it could give similar signs perhaps

you are good gas man I could do with your mobile on a daily basis

the aps has failed,or much less likely the flues come apart get some adjustable honeywell aps from abkot i carry 5 on the van the aps is that much of a issue on the performa/105 he,baxi have now launched a upgraded aps dont have the pn sadly

spot on it could give the same problems but for some reason (i dont know why)never had a venturie fail on one of these ,still have one thats new in a bag been there in stock for 11 years

I have never bought an adjustable APS i suppose you have to set them up with a digital manometer I presume ?

well i shall keep you all informed as im going to service the boiler tomorrow, circulation was fine all the rads got hot,so it fired up long enough to do that, hot water gets up to temp then cuts out and then goes cold mmmmm
original the gas valve wasnt letting any gas through at all with a little adjustment i got gas through at the MI stated 10.3mb but like i said it seems to have a life of its own but the boiler cuts out on both hot water and heating, but in true profesional manor i will not be beaten

check ignition leads?, gas valve?, solenoid valve?, air pressure switch? and blocked venturi?.
