Hello,
I just moved into a new house with a Potterton Performa 24 Eco HE. Just recently as it has gotten colder have
turned the central heating on an have noticed it makes a loud noise when it appears to reach the thermostat temperature.

Have turned thermostat which is in the hall to 20 and waited for the temperature to rise and then it makes a loud almost
whistling noise that gradually gets louder and higher in pitch until after what seems like an age the noise fades away.

If you turn the thermostat down to a lower temperature the noise will just stop.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated

are the radiators heating, water heating ok? If not get someone GSR in to have a look 🙂 the noise could be a multitude of things to be honest

The radiators and heating appear to be fine, water from the taps and the radiators are hot.

The noise does not happen all the time, only when it reaches or appears to reach the required temperature

Where is the noise coming from? Boiler or radiator? It'll be either mechanical or heat related!! Which would you say?
