Need some help if possible as I am not a plumber.

Basically we have a Potteron Performa 28i Combi boiler installed.

The issue seems to be that the shower upstairs has suddenly stopped giving hot water.

The bath taps upstairs and the kitchen sink downstairs provide plenty of hot water and you can see/hear the boiler fire up as soon as one of the taps is opened.

The issue is the shower upstairs! Its a thermostatic aqualisa unit and has had a new cartridge installed (no issues). The trick to get hot water out of the shower is to jump start the boiler by switching on the bath taps and then using the shower (even then, the boiler occaissionaly switches off during the shower!)

As you can tell, its not convienent at all. I have no knowledge in plumbing but what are we looking at in terms of whats gone wrong? I won't be doing the work myself, but a plumber will be (no idea who as of yet!!).

Any help appreciated.

actually if i rember right you may need a in line valve as had something similar before , i phoned up the shower manufacturer and got some type of in line flow valve and it worked fine

sounds like a iffy shower, not the boiler

Possibly but hot water does come through when kick starting the boiler through the bath taps. Maybe its a pressure thing?

what pressure do you need at the shower??
may be a flow rate issue , would say they are not compatable so get new shower

Shower had been working fine and its just recent. Boiler and shower were working well in conjunction with each other.

Ok, might give that a go, but as above, both had been working fine for a few years.

is it the wrong cartridge thats been fitted to the shower, they do several types for high pressure/low pressure etc.

Well I have had a new pink cartridge installed which is for a combi boiler set up. Do they do low pressure carts? Im going to look now, but I am truly stumped at this stage.
