Hi again

Got a problem on a potterton performa 24i he.

no heating or hot water and fan light flashing up.

fan runs for five secs then stops and then runs then stops again

took tube from aair pressure switch off the venturi which then causes fan to run constantly.

checked venturi all was clear and flue is clear.

changed air pressure switch - boiler then worked fine

turned boiler off and turned it back on for one last test and the same fault come back

i'm thinking pcb but not 100% sure

any ideas? cheers

Did boiler light up with chamber front off and new aps fitted then fan light flashing with front back on? If so I'd test air pressure difference across the venturi.

how longs the flue run?if its on its limit of 6 meters ,fan is the most likely problem, even if it appears to be ok they drop off in performance, just enough to cause this fault

when i first lit the boiler the inner door panel was off. put panel back on boiler stayed a light.
found the boiler building up pressure on heating so turned it off pumped up vessel. put all back together including all panels..... same fault. customer rang about an hour later to say he reset and it was working again but then cut out again????

also flue is about 600mm long

cheers guys

I've had fans on these run slow and also had venturi faults. Checking the pressure diff across the venturi will let you know what the fan is producing. A less likely issue, but one to consider, would be a restriction in the flue; secondary heatex blocked, condensate pipe from heatex blocked/restricted, flue outlet restricted in some way? A few things to check, hopefully helpful in getting to the bottom of your problem 🙂
