well i was lucky as i managed to get paid £10 for a full days work and i brought some tooth paste. I do feel some guilt tho, do you think i charged the customer too much? maybe i should charge less and knock the teeth out.......... as long as the customers happy i guess.

what do you do for a living cardigan?

I'm a retired mathematician, I did 4 years full time at University to get my master degree and many years of study to qualify as an economist and I never got near £75,000 a year.

There's got to be something wrong when I would cost me less to go to plumbing school to train as a plumber and qualify as a 'Gas Safe' and install my own boiler than it would to employ one of you guys to install my central heating; how insane is that!

You should have been a plumber, don't be Jel..

If you do decide to become a plumber, then speak to my boy here cardigan. He can get you cheap tools off amazon. Some great deals he finds on there, this should knock the cost of the job down 🙂

Professional ********. Makes me sick.
You are the type of clientele that I overprice jobs for (say 450 a day) just because I'd rather be skint than work for people who unappreciate the skill, knowledge, technique and professionalism that I have.

Is that you, the pic in your avatar - was that you on the UCL team on Univeristy Challenge the other night?

Ooops sorry got mixed up there, now I recognise you, it wasn't University Challenge you were the guy under the blanket getting out of the police van going into court. Did you get away with it?

What leads you to believe we earn £75000, if you were an economist you should know that the way you have worked that out is wrong.

It also takes 4 years to complete an aprenticeship and a lot longer to have the confidence and experience necessary to install your heating system

Well crack on matey, do a four year apprenticeship, join Gas Safe, get a fga, tools, insurance, van/car, waste carriers licence....etc etc
go sharpen your pencil pal....

Now there's a well thought through, well structured argument based upon sound evidence and clear logic. You should put your name forward to join your 'hoody' mate should they ever ask for a plumbers team on University Challenge (don't hold your breath).
