Hi guys, first post on what looks a very helpful site so here goes!!

Fitted a Salamander CT75 pump today in a bathroom refit. Pump is fitted under the bath taking hot feed from what was previous supply to bath tap and cold feed direct from cold water tank in loft. Hot and cold water flow through the bath taps fine, however the pump does does not start (shower) even though water flows through the pump with flow routed to the shower mixer, where water comes out -although not tremendous pressure. There is power to the pump. I plan to call Salamander tomorrow but wondered if anyone had any suggestions this evening?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Ian

before you phone them make sure you have fitted the pump to there spec otherwise the warranty will be void!

pump should not be fitted under the bath. it has to be fitted in the airing cupboard at the base of the hot water cylinder as per manufacturers instructions.

What is the height difference between the shower head outlet and the level of the water in the cold water storage tank? CT75 is I believe a positive head pump. The instructions that came with the salamander pump will give you the minimum distances required. I think you may need a negative head pump. Brace yourself for the cost!!!

Good luck

i had murders with one of these a couple of years ago we had salamanders out several times changed pipework as they said there must be a blockage
finally cured the problem when we changed the mixer taps a single lever mixer on legs didnt allow enough flow try another mixer or try running it with the mixer removed

The main point here is that the hot supply has been taken from the bath tap if I have understood correctly! Thats completely wrong, salamander instructions show all of the options for connecting the pump and thats not one of them. If you call them out you will almost certainly have to pay because as reggie09 says the warrenty is void.
