Quality toilet seat required

I have an elderly customer who just wants a decent wooden toilet seat that doesn't move around when sat on.

They had a decent one before, an old one from the 80's and it was very well made but had split. They asked me to buy them one (which I hate) but I went to Homebase and bought a wooden one but its of a poor quality and won't stay attached, it just moves around no matter how tight it is.

Its expected that wooden seats are rubbish, so too are most plastic ones.

However, in cases like this I recommend the roca wc seats in white plastic. These seats have stainless hinges and screw/bolts which locate into expanding rubber grommets to keep the seat tight and fixed.

I installed one of these the other day. The lid, when closed, was actually very slightly - but noticably - off-centre. But it was probably a one-off fault. The design was good and it was solid when fitted.

They prefer wood. I just hate buying toilet seats for people, the two or three I've bought in the past have all resulted in call backs due to poor quality. :93:

Ah! That will look good with a fluffy toilet seat cover!

You don't see that many of those seat covers around these days, I must ask if they have any in stock when I'm next at PTS.

Imperial Bathrooms do a nice wooden seat in 3 flavours! with a soft close version also ... Not chep but very good quality... You might try to contact them direct as I don't know who their agents/distributors are
