Radiator noise

Hi

I had to have my radiators balanced yesterday morning.
They all seemed to work fine.
I put the heating system on last night to find that my bedroom radiator is being noisy.
The sound is like a gas releasing sound/ boiling water sound especially by the return valve.
I went around all of my radiators and bled them this morning. There was no air in the bedroom radiator though, only in my radiator in the bathroom.

Can anyone suggest what the problem could be? Should I open the return valve a little more or just call my heating engineer out?

I hate heating problems 😡

Water velocity is too high through the radiator. You could try just opening the valve a little but if you have paid for it balancing then get him back. Do all rads have trv's on? If so do you have an auto bypass?

Thank you for replying.

I will try and open the valve a little and see how that goes. I pay through a heating insurance every month so I get them to come out whenever there is an issue.

I have 6 radiators, 4 have trvs, 1 doesn't and the other is a towel radiator.

I don't think I have an auto bypass, is this something that I should have?

Wonder how they balanced it up? Assume they took the TRV heads off bearing in mind how mild it is at the moment. And yeah, if you've got most rads with TRVs you will need an auto bypass valve otherwise as soon as the TRVs start closing you'll get more water being forced through the others and a lot more noise. Not one built into the boiler is there?
