re homing my dog

Anyone in the kent area looking to get a dog or know anyone that is thinking of getting one?

Basically in the days before a wife and kids I got myself a four legged companion who has been my buddy ever since I got hin back from the shelter 5 years ago. However we have found out that we have a second gas man rob jnr on the way and if im honest its not fair on the dog time is tight as it is and I dont get to give him all the attention he deserves so I have reluctantly decided its best for him.

He is a brindle coloured staffie with his bits removed. Lovely temperament but does love a fuss and whole hartedly belives he is a lap dog. As he was a rescue we can only guess his age and he is belived to be about 7 maybe 9 at the most. Costs me about £12 per week to feed.

I will miss him as he has been an absolute pal not to mention he gets me out of the wifes war path twice a day, but I must put his welfare first. Ive put this in the arms as I will not let him go to a pikey home or anywhere I think he wont get the fuss he deserves. He is not just my pet but a very close friend.

Would prefer mature family or older couple looking to put some character back in the house now the kids have grown up and left.

I feel for you Rob. I would love to have a dog again, but it wouldn't be fair - I just wouldn't have the time for one. Good luck with finding a new home for him.

cant understand why you would want to get rid of the dog its going to break his heart being moved on from his family is he violent or vicious?if not i really think its wrong your kicking him out mate TBH

Not violent in the slightest. And I agree its not ideal and if I could work it so he could stay without his care or attention being effected then I wouldnt be asking. Ive had to take on more work and work longer hours the mrs has a one year old round her ankles all day and another one due in 3 months. Trying to keep an eye on all of them is just to much its not fair on anyone.

i would work around the problem look for a solution no dog or any other pet(or as i see them a member of my family)would be moved out to accommodate other peoples feelings if you know what i am saying from your posts i get the feeling its not you who wants this

Hope you find a new home for him, must be hard. My sister-in-law who lives in Walderslade Woods would be a sucker for this sob story but she's just landed in NYC for a fortnight's holiday. I'll pass her the info though as her friends down there are all animal lovers.

Sorry to hear this bud, couldn't imagine my house without the dog now, kid or not. He's part of the family so know this decision must be hard. It would break our hearts.

Be very careful where he ends up and who takes him. If he gets into the wrong hands he'll end up dead in a pit within a week.

A lot of people who are allergic to dogs can cope with non moulting breeds like miniature schnauzers or poodles so there's hope.

True. My father in law is allergic to my dog, but not his own spaniel. Schnauzers are really nice dogs. Border terriers also don't moult and are charming dogs, unless you don't exercise them

i was allergic to my own dog when i got him, didnt realize it was him for the first year that was 7 years ago.
now, he does not bother me at all, think i have adjusted and just got on with it!.

kids who are allergic to peanuts have a new medical cure......feed them peanuts and eventually they become immune.
