I have an open drain in my garden which is actually the waste water coming from the upstairs flat's sink and washing machine (see attached photo). It will block once a year or so due to the fat and food material that gathers. I can usually unblock it myself but it's a bit of a pain, so I wondered if there is any type of fluid or crystals I could put down there on a regular basis to prevent the build up. I was thinking something like Drain Magic from TM Chemicals.
Any suggestions?
